Based on the 2001-2003 BBC series of the same name, The Office is a mockumentary sitcom that aired from 2005 to 2013, with a total of nine seasons. The series follows the everyday work lives of office employees as the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. It is filmed to simulate the look of an actual documentary, with a single-camera setup. The original main cast consists of Steve Carell as Regional Manager Michael Scott, John Krasinski as the Senior Sales Rep Jim Halpert, Rainn Wilson as the Assistant (to the) Regional Manager Dwight Schrute, Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly, the receptionist, and B.J. Novak as Temp Ryan Howard. The rest of the original cast consists of Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Brian Baumgartner, Leslie David Baker, Phyllis Smith, Mindy Kaling, Paul Lieberstein, Kate Flannery, and Creed Bratton.
