If that were not already enough to whet your appetite for another Good Burger adventure, Paramount+ has also released footage of Kel Mitchell as the delightfully dim-witted Ed, who finds himself working at Krusty Krab as part of National Cheeseburger Day.

Released back in 1997, the first Good Burger was spawned by a comedy sketch of the same name on the Nickelodeon series All That. The movie follows Kenan Thompson as Dexter Reed, a 16-year-old high school student who, after wrecking his teacher’s car, is forced to get a summer job at a fast-food restaurant to pay for the damages. There, he meets Ed, played by Kel Mitchell, a lovable, innocent idiot who may just hold the secret to Dexter’s salvation.

Though Good Burger was met with negativity by critics upon release, the comedy has since been embraced by audiences and fans of Kenan & Kel, many of whom have wondered for some time, and particularly in this era of legacy sequels, whether we would ever see the pair again.

Thus, Good Burger 2 will pick up many years after the first outing, and finds Dexter once again walking through the doors of the burger restaurant and reuniting with Ed.

"Dexter Reed is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back,” the official synopsis reads. “With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again."

Directed by Phil Traill (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earth), Kenan Thompson has promised even more fun and laughter when audiences return to the home of the Good Burger.

"I mean, [fans can expect] more laughs, you know. More fun. I think that's what people love about that original, is how much fun it looked like we were having,” Thompson said. “So, I think that kind of comes off the screen, and allows for everybody to participate in that joy. I'm just looking forward [to it]. Lots of bright colors, that silly Ed character running around."

So, once again, Good Burger 2 is now due to be released on Paramount+ just in time for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 22. The first Good Burger is also now streaming on the platform.
